South African College High School Application Process
OPEN DAY – Wednesday 6 February
APPLICATIONS FOR 2020
Applications for places in 2020 open on 9 January 2019 and close on 15 March 2019.
Listed below are all the necessary documents required from new applicants.
Kindly note that for your application to be considered, it is essential that the following documentation is enclosed when handing in or emailing your application:
- Completed Application Form (Please read the checklist on pages 2 and 10); ADMISSIONS APPLICATION FORM
- Headmasters Report from your current school;
- Birth Certificate with full ID number and photograph of student;
- ID of both parents; and
5. Copy of most recent year end report (i.e. December 2018)
SACS SCHOLARSHIP EXAMINATIONS – 29 January 2019 : GRADE 8 2020
Learners who have achieved at least 80% (code 7) for BOTH English and Mathematics in term four of their Grade 6 year may submit an Academic Scholarship application form.
The Scholarship Examination, with papers in both Mathematics and English, will be written on Tuesday, 29 January 2019from 14h00 – 16h00 at the School. Closing date is the 28th January 2019.
Pupils must provide their own pen, pencil and eraser to write the exam. No calculators are allowed.
Learners who have achieved a Grade 4 level or above (Trinity, ABRSM or UNISA) may submit a Music Scholarship application form.
Auditions will be held on Thursday, 31 January 2019 from 14h00 at the School.
Learners who are of provincial selection standard in one or more sports offered at SACS may submit a Sport Scholarship application form. Include supporting documents of recent sporting achievements. Closing date for sports scholarship applications will be the 28th January 2019.
Please note that submitting a Scholarship Application form does not guarantee entry into SACS High School. It also does not commit the candidate to accept a place at the school.
Candidates for ALL scholarships must also complete an application form for Grade 8 2020.
These forms are available on our website at www.sacollege.org.za and are to reach the school no later than Monday, 28 January 2019. LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
SACS OPEN AFTERNOON 2019 : WEDNESDAY 6 FEBRUARY 2019
The afternoon will commence in the Hofmeyr Hall at 15h30 with the first of two welcome and information addresses by the Headmaster. This will be followed by guided tours around the school. The last tour will commence at 16h30. Refreshments will be served in the Major Quad. Here, members of Staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. The repeated address by the Headmaster will commence at 17h30 for those unable to attend the first at 15h30.
NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED.
