Fort Cox Agriculture and Forestry Training Institute was established in 1930 and is one of the twelve training institutions of agriculture in the country but the only such institute offering specialization in forestry.  It is set amid beautiful surroundings of bush – clad hills and mountains, and endows a diversified socio-economic and biological heritage. It is a place of great historic significant.

 It is the same environs that many of the famous warriors; like Rharhabe – Xhosa chiefs of the old time built their kraals. The chronology of historical events gives a summary of major social and academic events that highlight the development of the institute since its inception.

Agriculture and Value Adding department is one of the two academic departments in Fort Cox College of Agriculture and Forestry. The department offers a three year Diploma programme in Agriculture, specializing in Agri-business, Animal Production and Crop Production at NQF level 6. The programme is accredited and recognized by Council on Higher education.

Animal Production Department is one of the three academic departments in Fort Cox College of Agriculture and Forestry. The department offers a three year Diploma programme in Agriculture, Animal Production at NQF level 6. The programme is accredited and recognized by Council on Higher education.

Crop Production/Agribusiness Department is one of the three academic departments in Fort Cox College of Agriculture and Forestry. The department offers a three year Diploma programme in Agriculture, Crop Production at NQF level 6. The programme is accredited and recognized by Council on Higher education.

Diploma in Agriculture: Agri-Business

Diploma in Forestry

Fort Cox forestry department is one of the two academic departments in Fort Cox College Agriculture and Forestry. The department offers a dynamic academic three year general forestry diploma programme at NQF level 6. The programme is accredited and recognized by Council on Higher education. It is our main aim to continue producing high quality graduates who are responsive to the current challenges facing the forestry industry. Moreover, considering the afforestation programme approved for the Eastern Cape Province, our forestry department has a major role to play to capacitate future foresters who will sustain the afforestation programme. It is without reasonable doubt that fort cox is an institution of choice for studying forestry qualification. Through our dedicated partnership with private companies in the industry that provides an integral opportunity of exposure to current and prospective students to attain various technical experiences in forest management.
