THE WCED REGISTRATION
The WCED’s online process opens 17 February 2020.
The online registrations have to be completed by 17 March 2020.
STEP 2: SCHOOL APPLICATION – COMPULSORY
Download application form from school’s website,
(https:www.brakkies.co.za) or get a hard copy at the school.
Complete the application form
Make sure the following pages are signed:
Code of Conduct
Undertaking of the parent and learner
Learner Participation form
ATTACH THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS TO THE APPLICATION:
Printed proof of online application on the WCED website
Copy of learner’s birth certificate (if not available – ID or proof of
Copy of ID’s of both parents / guardian(s)
If parent(s) is deceased, supply copy of death certificate
If a parent is not involved, an affidavit is required
Proof of legal guardianship is required
Proof of residential address
Only a municipal account not older than 3 months or copy of valid
lease agreement will be accepted
Cell phone account will not be accepted
If you reside with a 3rd party, the following is required from the
owner: Valid proof of address, copy of ID and an affidavit stating
that you reside there.
Copy of latest school report (Gr 6 final report)
If learner has immigrant status, please submit learner’s valid study
permit and the permits of the parents (where applicable)
HAND IN THE HARD COPY OF THE COMPLETED APPLICATION
FORM AND DOCUMENTS AT THE SECRETARY. NO E-MAILED
APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. THE SCHOOL WILL NOT
PRINT ANY APPLICATIONS OR DOCUMENTS.
IF YOU SUBMIT FALSE INFORMATION, IT WILL INFLUENCE YOUR CHILD’S APPLICATION.
ANY INCOMPLETE OR INCORRECT APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE
SCHOOL’S ADMISSIONS POLICY
ALL completed applications will be processed.
Learners who live INSIDE the school’s feeder area will get preference.
Learners who live OUTSIDE the feeder area will be selected based on merit.
We can only accommodate 330 grade 8s. If you submit your application after 17 March 2020, you will have to accept the fact that all available positions could be filled. Please apply as soon as possible.
If the learner does NOT live in the feeder area but attends one of
the local primary schools, it does not guarantee automatic acceptance.
If a learner has an older brother or sister currently in the school, it does not guarantee automatic acceptance. However, it will be taken into consideration.
The WCED does not determine your child’s placement; it is still the task of the school and the Governing Body.
CONFIRMATION OF ACCEPTANCE
Parents are informed of the outcome from 15 to 22 May 2020.
School sends electronic confirmation. (Please inform the school if
your e-mail address or cell number had changed)
Parents confirm acceptance (WCED and school) by 5 June 2020.
Available spaces will be filled from 6 June to 24 July 2020.
Please note: In the case that the learner is accepted at more than one
school and the parent does not make a final decision and confirm the
school of choice by 5th of June 2020, the first school where the application was successful, as ranked by the parent, will be activated
automatically and all other successful applications will be removed in
order to prevent learners blocking places at schools.
