The Basic Ambulance Assistant (BAA)/ Basic Life Support Practitioner is the entry level qualification to the pre-hospital emergency care profession, and enables the candidate to register with the Health professions Council Of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Basic Ambulance Assistant, in the category ‘Supervised Practice’.

Course Duration
The BAA course is run over 4 weeks on a full time basis. Teaching takes place during the first three weeks and assessment takes place in the fourth week.
Course Fees
The course fee is R18 500-00. Course fees include textbook, preparation modules, stethoscope, BP cuff and pupil torch. Full payment of balance of fees due on commencement of course.
